Dog Gone Crazy!

Does your dog have something that sets it off?  Like something he/she rarely sees or hears but when they do it just gets them riled up?  For Chloe and Chanel (Chloe taught Chanel this one), whether we’re on a walk or riding in the car and they see cows, they get crazy.  If we’re walking they try to pull us over to the fence where the cows are and if we’re in the car they stare out the window and start whimpering andwhining or barking at them.  It’s like they’re saying to the cows “How dare you be hanging around that field while we’re passing by!”  “Don’t you know this is our street?!”  They do this whether it’s the field we’ve passed many times in our neighborhood or it’s one we’re passing for the first time while on a road trip. 

Chloe also has this thing with vultures.  If she’s in the yard and she sees one flying sort of low anywhere near the house she is NOT having it!  She follows the bird as it’s flying over the yard and barks as if she’s saying “I’m the guard of this yard so get a new area to fly in ’cause this yard is a “no-fly zone”!!  She is so funny…don’t mess with her yard! 

Chanel has a fascination too with motorcycles.  When she hears them coming down the road while we’re on a walk she gets excited and starts to walk faster.  She used to jump around a bit too, but we’ve calmed her down more recently since she really shouldn’t get excited like that while walking (Ceasar would agree).  I really think she’d love to ride on one.  I can see her now wearing a leather jacket and doggles and a helmet (safety first!), sitting in the side car of a Harley-type motorcycle.  Her ears would be blowing in the wind and she’d have a huge smile on her face.  How fun that would be!!
