Gatlinburg! #4

Did you know that Gatlinburg, TN  has one of the top rated aquariums in the United States? Trip advisor voters gave the Ripley Aquarium top honors. You also may not be aware that Gatlinburg is known as the wedding capital of the south. But what we like the most about this destination are the many trails, cool cabins high up with views forever, and the fantastic restaurants in town. There are so many things to do there from venturing out to Cades Cove and exploring an early settlement to taking the ski lift up to the top of Ober Gatlinburg. And you are right at the entrance to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park with loads of hiking trails and picnic areas. The great part is that these are all activities that you can do with your furry friends. All this, combined with the ease of getting there from pretty much anywhere on the East coast, makes Gatlinburg a great place to hang out with the dogs for a week.

Both the cabins that we have stayed at have been very nice. The last one that we rented from Timber Tops was really cool. It was practically brand new and up on top of a ridge overlooking Pigeon Forge. It had the usual stuff with a pool table and hot tub and was nice and cozy.  Chloe and Chanel loved going up and down and up and down the spiral staircase!

We spent a lot of time walking the dogs several miles down at Patriot Park. It has a great 1/2 mile track that weaves down by the river. It actually helped us make room for one of my favorite meals. Pancakes!! And the Pancake Pantry is the place to go in Gatlinburg. We also like the Old Mill Restaurant and the nearby artisan shops at Old Mill Square. Overall, it was a great place to vacation and a perfect place to take Chloe and Chanel.
